royal_bank_avion_credit_card I’m sure by now you’ve seen the hilarious commercials the Royal Bank of Canada has been putting out for the new Avion Visa. They sure do get their point across about the travel rewards are better with this card, but I wanted to take a look for you and I. I’m not sure if it’s just the travel season kicking in gear, or if they’re trying to boost the economy with extra travel rewards with all these new credit cards lately. One thing is for certain though, and that is I’ll be picking up one of these banks cards for my travel endeavours.

The travel rewards with this card are quite to my liking.  The Avion Platinum Visa lets you earn RBC Rewards points with every purchase. Redeem for flights on any airline and absolutely no blackouts or seat limitations. Or, redeem for merchandise, gift cards/certificates and more. This is a great list of features that will help anyone get to their destination quicker…but I assure you this is not all you get with this card, take a look at the rest of the features;

  • Flexible points redemption options such as: air travel on any airline, anytime — no blackout periods or seat restrictions()
  • Earn 1 RBC Rewards point for every dollar you spend on the card
  • Air travel rewards start as low as 15,000 points
  • Receive 2,500 bonus points each year at renewal
  • Choose from other travel rewards including packaged holidays, hotels, car rentals, VIA Rail, cruises and tours
  • Redeem for any of our specially selected merchandise items, gift certificates or investment rewards
  • Earn RBC Rewards points faster with travel bookings through Carlson Wagonlit Travel

TD first class travel visa

TD first class travel visa

TD Canada Trust has a new Visa card out for travel lovers out there that’s really got attention lately. I’ve been doing so much traveling that I’ve been looking for a solid card to make it a little easier on my wallet. I’m sure most of you have looked into a travel card before if you’re into that sort of thing, and the beauty of this one is you earn points towards your trips at home, and while you’re out on your trip you’re still collecting more points for the next time.

The TD First Class Visa allows you to earn 3 points for every dollar you spend. When you’re booking a trip either with your agent or online, you can use those points towards the cost. The big feature I love about this Visa is the travel insurance you get at no additional cost. That’s not all though, you also get travel interruption and travel cancellation insurance at no additional cost! This card definitely has the travelers in mind and I encourage you to contact TD to get the full scoop.

There is an annual fee with the TD First Class Travel Visa but it isn’t too bad, and if you consider the rewards it’s worth the look. That annual fee is only $120, and the interest rate on the card is a litt high at %19.75.  There are also a few other awesome travel features that this card covers such as;

  • Earn 3x the points when using this card for travel
  • Access to exclusive hotel, concierge and restaurant privileges including hotel upgrades and and hotel reviews.
  • Receive common carrier travel accident insurance
  • Receive auto collision travel insurance
  • Extended warranty protection
  • and more!
